The picture here is indicative of the quality of tutorial you can find – for free – at Mikey’s Crochet Crowd. If you are not familiar with this free, online crochet ‘club’, you should check it out. It’s a great resource for crocheters. In this particular instance, you can get the free pattern and video tutorial for the Lattice Wrap. This detailed photo makes it very clear to me how the stitch motif will go together.
In addition to the generally cheerful, upbeat tone of the newsletters from Mikey, there are many tools on the site for all to use. There are free patterns, excellent tutorials, crochet tips, crochet news, and challenges to stretch our skills. If it has to do with crochet, sooner or later, Mikey and his partner Dan will write an article about it, explaining all the technical and esthetic elements of the topic.
I enjoy the free weekly newsletters even if I will never make it to their part of Canada. I just signed up the local St. Louis Crochet Club for inclusion in their map of local ‘live’ crochet groups. There is also a data base of charities that accept/request the work off our hooks.
So, get yourself over to the Crochet Crowd to see what’s new, what contest you can enter, and what challenge or crochet-along you might like to participate in. Plan to spend some time there. There’s plenty to inspire you!
